Recipient of The Absolute Sound’s prestigious “Golden Ear Award” in 2000, the MA-1 enjoys an enviable reputation. Now the Mk. 3.3 series builds on proven technology. An improved output section and enhanced driver circuit contribute to superior low-level detail, smoother sound, wider bandwidth and AC power immunity. The rugged, non-magnetic chassis features classic looks with superior layout. Setup of the amplifier is simple with it’s automatic biasing system. The controls and switches are ergonomic without sacrificing performance. 

The MA-1 is extraordinary in every way. Not only is normal operation easy on the vacuum tubes, the effect of a tube failure on the unit is entirely inconsequential. Roger Quested

Founder & Owner

THE QUEST

Quested opened for business in May 1985. Founded by Roger Quested whose own career and passion can be traced back to ground breaking albums of the 1960s. Much of this rich history and broad knowledge gained during these years would ultimately find its way into every Quested product and form the foundations of who we are today.

Starting out at Olympic studios as a tape-operator in 1968, Roger Quested worked his way up the ranks until he was assisting Glyn Johns, who was producing Led Zeppelin’s debut album at the time. Moving on to Morgan Studios and now a mix engineer in his own right, Roger worked with artists such as Pink Floyd, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, The Kinks, Rick Springfield, Camel, John Denver, Olivia Newton-John, Johnny Hallyday, Sacha Disteland to name just a few.
