MARCIN OSTAPOWICZ — Founder, XACT Audio

Music has always been central to the life of Marcin Ostapowicz. Growing up with a father who was a professor at a music academy, he developed a deep sensitivity to sound through constant exposure to live music and real instruments.

In the mid-2000s, while experimenting with computer-based music playback, he became frustrated by how poorly digital audio reproduced the realism of live performance. Determined to improve it, he began developing his own solutions. What started as personal experimentation soon evolved into a mission to redefine computer audio.

In 2009, he created the first version of JPLAY, which quickly gained recognition among audiophiles for its exceptional sound quality. He later founded JCAT, introducing specialized components for high-end digital playback. Today, his innovations are used by thousands of listeners worldwide, helping shape the modern landscape of high-end computer-based audio.
